Thank you for considering making a donation to RIG.  We are a not-for-profit, community based organisation with our centre in American River on Kangaroo Island in South Australia.  As of September 2022, we are a registered charity.  All of our income comes from people like you who think that what we are doing is worthy of your support.

Rebuilding Independence will take time.  We know that we have to look to the long term and be patient and painstaking.   We also know that it will take a lot of money and for that reason we are continually fund raising.  Although all our labour is by volunteers, we need to purchase materials.  We already have enough timber for the ribs - all of which have now been constructed - and the keel as well as the hull planks.   Once they're on, there's still the ropes, sails, paint and the 1001 other items needed to build the vessel.  And that's without day to day expenses such as electricity, insurance, council lease.

Most people donate through our plank scheme.  For a donation of $20 your name is listed as a donor on the boathouse wall and, if you come to visit us at American River, we will give you a memento plank to take home. 

Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible in Australia.

Membership

If you support the aims of Rebuild Independence Group Inc. then consider becoming a member.  Membership is $10 per annum. Members receive regular newsletters and invitations to RIG events such as the Annual Independence Bonfire.
